Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

TL;DR: Flood fuels the intellect where listening to RCHP makes me feel dumber the way watching reality TV makes me feel like I'm taking my IQ and sticking it in a whirring garbage disposal.
And this might be the difference, as I have bands I seek for intellectual nourishment, whereas I look to RHCP when I need a hit of dopamine. And I’d be lying if I didn’t say that there are some RHCP tracks that provide that dopamine hit and disguise intellect in the form of nostalgia, which I think is OK too. Whatever conjures up feelings.

TL; DR: No band (even RCHP, DMB or FF) are so bad that you I wont go and have fun at the show.
Yup. I saw Coheed and Cambria live like 20 years ago cause a friend who loves them had a ticket. Didn't convert me but it was a pretty ripping show.

Years ago (about 20 again) Las Vegas had a boon type of year. So, they did two things: 1) refunded registration money to anyone who had registered a vehicle that year and 2) put on a free outdoor concert with Weezer and RHCP (both of whom I don't really dig).

They did a call in for the limited tickets and I was a young enlisted person stationed there at the time so a mob of us all called at the same time and maxed out amount of tickets so that we went as a pack. RHCP player second. Just as the scorching Vegas sun was retiring for the night. I was full of beer and I had a blast.

Basically destroys all standing when addressing both snobbery and/or taste.
I'm hard pressed to disagree Your Honor.
But I implore you - take judicial notice of the following:

"I know I know for sure
Ding ding dong dong ding ding dong dong ding ding
I know I know it's you
Ding ding dong dong ding ding dong dong ding ding"

With that, I cede my time on the record to the opposition.

I love that you think of 311 as the thinking man’s Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I made you a Venn diagram to display why that is funny…

Lemon Demon's Spirit Phone is among the best albums of the entire 2010s and I'm prepared to die on this hill. 😤

I like the Animal Collective. Just not as big on Cate Le Bon, which I should be. But I'm not really connecting with the couple of songs I heard.

You have that dot in the wrong place my friend.

I’m somewhere in the white. That dot represents my buddy - the 311 fan.

I’m simply the guy he get to go with him to the shows so he doesn’t have to go alone.

311 fan. Decidedly not. But I don’t loathe them - like I do RHCP.

BTW: Have I mentioned how Evil Urges is far and away the Best My Morning Jacket Record? No!? Well - it is.

The reverb on Jim’s voice is just way over the top with no seeming artistic reason for it. I’m out.
