Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

"Rolling in the deep" is a great song, but I don't know if she wrote it.
All her other songs are meh.
That song got played to death. A friend pointed out the back up singers sound like they're saying
"You're Gonna wish you
Never had bad Feet
Tears of Butter fall
Rolling in the deep"
during the chorus and I can't ever hear that song without cracking up

Florence & The Machine are pretty meh
I put all Florences tunes on a USB (on a whim) for a car journey about 9 yrs ago. Then me and wife drove 4 hrs with it playing. We didnt realise the entire stick could cover the journey or was looping who knows? All of a sudden we both looked each other (approx 2.5 hrs into journey) - GET FLORENCE OFF NOW!
Not listened to a tune since.
Shes probably ok for a one off radio play.

Not gonna lie. I thought my friend was playing a prank on me when he played Wuthering Heights for me.

Yeah! That’s an extreme example from right at the start of her career and I can definitely see why that’d make you think that tbh! Her control improved significantly as she went on. She actually re-recorded that one for her greatest hits in the mid 80s and the vocals were much less, errr, extreme.

Similarly I got Lungs when it first came out off the back of the cover of You’ve Got The Love. Really liked it the first play. Liked it less and less with each ensuing play and the cd hasnt been in the player since about a year after it came out.
