Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

A Beatles fan that doesn't like Lennon's solowork? Never met one of those! :p. Is there even an opposing opinion to ATMP being the best

I do quite like the acoustic compilation that came out about 15 years ago...

I’m sure there are people who have one, not me though. As far as I’m concerned the only one that comes close is Band on the Run.

Apart from band I find McCartneys solo output very lacking

There are good songs dotted here and there but it Ram and Flowers In The Dirt are the only ones that hold up as albums for me. He did, for the most part, become a major cringe “cool dad” from the 80s too which is a shame!

I like music that I enjoy. That’s my primary yardstick. Beyond that anything extra is a bonus.
And there is nothing enjoyable about that genre in that era. Not a single band worth a damn out of the lot of them. At least hair metal, grunge, etc... had at least one band or album that's worth a damn.

I can see people thinking their a bit open, but they seem to be able to make songs about serious issues that aren't cringey as hell like alot of other bands (SUBLIME)

Well yeah but then sublime are shit on so many levels that you’ve just scored into an open goal!

But I'm focusing on a specific point. They wanted to have some songs that were "real" and spoke openly about heavy issues and they all come across very sophomoric and cringey.

Pearl Jam is grunge? Nirvana isnt? Isn't punk with alt rock styling the definition of grunge? Also, @Joe Mac check out Mudhoney.
Yes for their first two albums anyway. Not in my opinion. No, Nirvana was the only "grunge" act to use a solid punk foundation. Soundgarden and Alice In Chains being examples of notable grunge acts that were pretty distant from punk sonically
