Incoming! The New Equipment Thread

Those Linton stands look like they were made for the DWX. Where are you hiding the Kinki?
They’re the perfect width but slightly too deep for the DWX but it’s not noticeable unless you’re standing next to them, so I don’t mind and I love that I get to keep the extra record storage! The Kinki is on my Haller console on the right side of the speakers!

Turntable arrived today. Absolutely stunning. Haven’t received the capacitance plugs yet but I’ll mount the Shure and give her a go tonight anyways. Dave at Vinyl Nirvana is fantastic. View attachment 223571View attachment 223572

@kvetcha i think you're the one with the fosi/khozmo setup....asked you awhile back about a headphone setup. I realized that if I plug the headphone amp into the 2nd output on the khozmo and turn the monoblocks off, that sound only comes out of the headphone amp so it DOES work with headphones...only downside is you need to turn the khozmo audio all the way up to get the full signal strength so can see this being dangerous if i forget to turn the volume down on the khozmo and put the speakers on.....

This is why I am gonna post a sign of rules at my amp. Jeebus, if I cut from the phono any other input??? Instant deafness.

My other fun thing is going for like an hour or more wondering why music sounds weird cause I left some setting on the amp on or off… Dirac/mono…

I've been tempted by them, especially since NH and ME are neighbors, but my understanding is Thorens don't like springy floors.

Looks gorgeous.

that is one sexy beast. is the label on the front standard? it has that old car vibe and I love it!!!! P.I.M.P.
Thanks for the compliments! I like the looks.. the Thorens label on the front is a bit old car vibe for sure. lol. I don’t mind it but someday may explore warming it up and trying to (very carefully) remove it.

Haven’t given it a real spin yet as I realized while getting everything set up that I was missing the anti-skate pulley. Dave sent it right out and it’s coming Monday. The capacitance plugs for the Shure are also coming Monday. So should be a fun night.

I ran it to verify everything works.. operates very quietly.. runs at the correct speeds. Looking forward to giving it a spin.

The bouncy floors thing is no doubt real as the platter and arm are super sensitive to any movement. On cement floors now, but will use a wall rack with it once I go to the loft.

The Luxman DA-06 is out for delivery.

I have been so impressed with the Eversolo A8 from a sound standpoint that I’m not sure what improvements I may get from the Luxman at this point… but will have a few weeks to let it play out.

The plan is to use the A8 as the streamer via USB output into the DA-06. If I get an appreciable difference using the Luxman, I could see myself returning the A8 and going to an A6 to handle streaming.

If I don’t think there is an improvement I’ll keep the A8 without reservation and return the Luxman. I really love the A8 to this point and have no complaints about it. It sounds fantastic..
