It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

I don't think it's an overpay at all if the rumored 60m fee is accurate. Tel is a VERY promising player with skills to contribute now. He'd be the heir apparent to the LW role if he's brought in permanently, and is almost certain to be in demand down the line by the biggest clubs. Even if this whole "youth experiment" fails, we can make bank selling Gray, Bergvall, Vuskovic, Tel, etc down the line.

All that being said, this smells too much like the Luis Diaz move. Feels like we're being used to get terms and then he can say "match it" to the clubs he wants to go to.
Yeah I don’t think he would have chosen Spurs as the priority. Chelsea want him but he doesn’t want them because he wants minutes. He wants Yanited but they have Hojlund and Zirkzee. I think he comes in and starts right away at ST, not LW. He’s playing LW at Bayern to accommodate Kane, but his best role (from what I’ve seen) is ST. Which means Richarlison is likely moving on in the summer which is fine with me.

If I were the Spurs folks in charge I'd throw in some kind of release clause into his contract that would take effect after 18 months that if we aren't in Europe, the clause activates (and is like 100m). Just give the kid a parachute if things go south and do so in a way that still helps the club.

Tel seems like he could have a VERY good World Cup for France next year.

Supposedly Villa is trying to hijack the Spurs deal in order to move Watkins to Arsenal

Duran deal to Nassr done. He now has the record for biggest MLS outbound transfer

If Tel's options are United, Villa, Chelsea and Spurs, I can't see why he wouldn't pick Chelsea.

The only thing working for us is apparently we can just sorta say "you don't use us for Kane anymore" as the balance is about the same.

I have remained skeptical that he was never coming here from day one and have only kinda gotten my hopes up today, but this all feels like Luis Diaz 2.0

Damn, looking at the seedings for the playoff leg of CL and City has either Bayern or Real Madrid in the playoff!!

I like this new format
Well it worked out with City vs Real Madrid.....but we could end up facing one of them in the quarterfinals assuming we get past the round of 16.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the playoffs and which teams end up where

My triple captain gamble last week may not have worked ! I’m slightly nervous about this game week but lots of Liverpool in my team
Anyone playing the assistant manager chip ?

Gonna be interesting to see how Spurs line up against Brentford with the Carabao and FA Cup ties following. I don't want to "throw" the Brentford game, but I'd be okay playing a majority of outcasts and kids, rotating in our stars for ~45 mins. We never seem to get a result against them anyway, and I'd rather set ourselves up as best as possible to advance to the Carabao final and the next round of the FA Cup.

I was going to use it this week, but since everyone (except u i guess lol) will most likely be using the TC this week for Liverpools double GW, I figure I have to follow suit

So it looks like Spuds are in for Tomori.

Sounds like a good move, I always liked him and they desperately need a centre half
