I'm curious what Raphinha goes for as that probably sets a comparable value for Antony. Right now Ajax quoting 80m where United seem to value him at 40m. So 55m-60m does sound about fair.

I'd love either of those two players at United next season. Raphinha was great last season and is PL proven and a hard worker. I think Antony has that little bit of extra flair that could make him a cult hero at United. His stats were excellent last season as well, albeit in Eredivisie but under a manager that loves him. I think Ronaldo would love playing with him.

Yeah I think Ziyech leaves. Pulisic and Werner, along with Ziyech haven’t really done anything of note. Like they’ve contributed throughout their time there, but most of Chelsea’s goals were spread out amongst everyone. Chelsea have been dying for a reliable forward/center forward for ages. Raphinha is a good get though.

Spurs had inquired about Antony with Bergwijn possibly going there. I’d have liked that but fuck me, 80m is insane. I wonder if that’s the United price and everyone else gets something else. I don’t think he’s worth anywhere close to that. Maybe 40m max.

The politics of signing from Leeds is really difficult. It isn’t the last time when they were up when one united had the success and money outright form the rest to be highest bidder despite it being Leeds and two would you really want to instantly become that hated for a team that isn’t guaranteed success. It’s why united couldn’t sign Philips and why Leeds will sell Raphina to any other team possible for the same money.

Antony is now overpriced, if that can’t be negotiated down then we have to walk away. United have to get out of the business of just throwing money at players and clubs. Also while we could do with a forward I’d be much more interested in a centre forward and still think a second midfielder and one or two full backs is higher up the priority list.
