Where you busy rioting at the Capitol?
Probably, though I wasn’t aware that Capitol/Capital was grammatically different between the US and UK. TBH, I wish everything was “Capital” as it would eliminate many typos on my end.Is it wrong that the thing that annoys me most in this post is the spelling of capital?

Yeah, I don’t really care that much. I basically just try to do whatever I can to avoid having people on the interweb correct my grammar. So randomly it’s actually more complicated and both words mean the same on both sides of the ocean but capitol really doesn’t get used much beyond America and so kinda gets a bit mixed up over there sometimes.
Capital is the city. So Washington DC is your capital. Capitol is the building in which the government sits. So the the capitol buildings in which Congress and the senate sits is your capitol.
It’s kinda why 6/1/22 is acurately a riot in, breach of, the capitol but maybe in another country where it’s more widespread across the city and various government buildings institutions it would be a riot in the capital.
I feel kinda sad for knowing all of that…

Unfortunately, I often fail.
Well, I didn't know the exact difference and I really appreciate this explanation. So randomly it’s actually more complicated and both words mean the same on both sides of the ocean but capitol really doesn’t get used much beyond America and so kinda gets a bit mixed up over there sometimes.

I am sorry. It sucks being stuck between a corrupt rock and a neo-fascist hard place.Well, I didn't know the exact difference and I really appreciate this explanation.
The sad part, for me, is seeing throngs of misinformed people trashing government buildings based on lies and the new government is going to milk it to death.
I'm by no means a Bolsonaro supporter, the dude is a complete asshole, but seeing someone as corrupt as Lula back as president is a tough pill to swallow.
Let's hope for the best.
