Got some catch-up writing to do, though I actually am caught up on listening which is super rare
July 10 - Hope I die before I get old
Play a record that is older than you (bonus points if the copy is actually older than you)
I think this is actually the oldest record in my collection right now. $1 pickup from the local, and while the sound is no great shakes, I'm fully on board with there being some form of Elvis in every collection. I think this is the 1962 stereo pressing of one of Elvis' bajillion hits comps. For $.99, no complaints at all from me.
Elvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records
July 11 - National Mojito day.
Play something that you like to listen to when you want to unwind (with or without a cocktail)
For my money, there are few voices or vibes more
chill in current music than Faye Webster. Her new album just continues those vibes in the sound - calming, one-tempo vocals as you glide through her musings and thoughts. Just really solid, even if it hasn't quite clicked like AMC yet.
Faye Webster - I Know I'm Funny haha
July 12 - By the time I get to Arizona
Play your favourite road trip album
So I just picked up two really great choices for this, so the non-soundtrack is today. Honestly, in terms of "single artist road trip albums", it's hard for me to put that many above this choice - incredibly smooth voice, great beats and rhythm, interesting lyrical choices in a stream of consciousness effort that really lends itself to staring over what seems like an endless landscape
Paul Simon - Graceland
