Apples In Stereo - New Magnetic Wonder
View attachment 51074
In my top-25 favorite albums of all-time. Please give er' a listen if you haven't!
In an interview, Robert Schneider has described New Magnetic Wonder as an album with sensibilities between the Apples in Stereo albums Fun Trick Noisemaker and The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone, as well as a heavy influence from 1970s bands such as Electric Light Orchestra and Queen. Schneider has also admitted Smile by Brian Wilson as an early influence on the album.
Are we talking Tom Wolfe? Looks like I need to look deeper into thisYes! Definitely. He’s more of Franzen’s era, born in the 60’s influenced by Wolfe, Robbins, and Roth, Roth especially in his Jewish identity being a big influence on his writing. In Modern Fiction my faves are Eugenides, Chabon, Franzen, and all time favorite, David Foster Wallace.
I'm loving all those shrooms!Day 9 - Gatefold
Allman Brothers - Eat A Peach
This is the first awesome inside gatefold I remember being aware of. I think this is my dad's old stained copy, but the inside still looks great and the discs are clean.

I really need to get a Chippendale print or something. Love his artwork.DAY 9 - GATEFOLD
My second Lightning Bolt album this month, Fantasy Empire.
Lightning Bolt are usually known for their very, very colorful album artwork. This time they put it inside, opting for an out-of-character dark cover.

Correct, Tom Wolfe. He is probably more known forehis Non-Fiction; The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test and The Right Stuff, but his novel Bonfire of The Vanities was one of the most renowned works of fiction in the 1980s.Are we talking Tom Wolfe? Looks like I need to look deeper into this

Acid Test is pretty amazing, if you haven't read it. Especially if you're interested in Kesey, who Is definitely one of my favorite authors.I loved Bonfire, and A Man in Full is pretty fantastic too. I finally read The Right Stuff last year, and while I like his fiction better it was a really great read.
And if you wanna get really 60s gonzo then read Hunter S. Thompson's Hell's Angels.Acid Test is pretty amazing, if you haven't read it. Especially if you're interested in Kesey, who Is definitely one of my favorite authors.
Kuma's Corner is the best! Also, there’s a burger place in Chicago called Kuma’s

ELO - Out of the Blue
Wow, I have a lot of gatefolds...I was a little overwhelmed thinking about looking through all of them. I'll use one I've always loved. This was my sister's OG copy, she gave it to me long ago. I used to love looking at this artwork as I listened and I reeeeally wanted to go in that spaceship. I still do actually.
