Day 5: Cinco de Mayo. Play an album by a Spanish speaking artist

Well, I can’t prove that these Australian boys are fluent in Spanish, but the first track on side B (Papasito) is in Spanish and sounds pretty authentic to my gringo ears.

Plus, the band’s name is Rosa Maria! What’s more Spanish than that‽

Day 7 - most recent purchase

I purchased this on Friday and picked it up from my local on Saturday. They’ve been doing back door pick up. Online Orders are put in bags with your name on it inside the back door of the shop. Most everyday, he’s there for a couple of hours. You can swing by and pick them up while he’s there. I check the site every week. When I saw this, I snagged it.

Hosono before yellow magic orchestra, 1969 Japanese psychedelic at its finest. I haven't really been listening to much western music these days, a certain band here and there but other than that I've been exploring more Asian and middle eastern bands trying to expand my collection and knowledge in those areas.

Day 7 - Most Recent Acquisition

The timing is just too perfect.
I recently was re-listening to my 2015 reissue of You'd Prefer an Astronaut and though to myself "I wish Downward Is Heavenward vinyl was thing."
The next day, I am on the Guess That Album Art thread, and someone posted something in reference to this album having been reissued!
Sure enough, I was a few years late. All the Discogs or eBay listings were prohibitively more than I want to pay.
Then I had a thought: what if the record company itself still has them?
Sure enough, they did. And the record company not only STILL has copies of the blue vinyl, but it is run and sent out by Matt Talbot of HUM himself!
I am loving rediscovering my favorite album by this band.
The worst part was the wait since this arrived on Tuesday; I knew instantly I was using this album for this thread, but I REALLY. WANTED. TO LISTEN!
Worth every second of the wait.

DAY 8 - FLOWERS
The Arcs - Yours, Dreamily,
Kind of a stretch I guess since I wasn't sure what to do for this one, but there's flowers on the cover and there's a song called "Put a Flower in Your Pocket" so it counts!

I honestly prefer this to a lot of Black Keys albums. I would love to hear more of this kind of stuff from Dan Auerbach. Very psychedelic with just enough grit to keep it interesting. This is definitely a strange album in his career since it sounds like nothing else he's done, while also still having traces of a little bit of everything he's done. This album doesn't seem to get talked about much nowadays but I listened to it a bunch back when it came out and I still pull it out now and then when I'm in the mood.

Day 8: (Nothing But) Flowers

This may be a bit on the nose, but my original choice was going to be the Rolling Stone compilation "Flowers".
