Well Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, the Snyder Incels trolled the Oscar polls, the In Memoriam was cheery, the they turned We Don’t Talk About Bruno into an ad. Also they cut a bunch of categories for some trrrible sketch work.

Damn. Sounds like a lot to catch up on. I knew about them cutting the behind the scene categories and figured the time would be wasted on dumb bits that no one would find funny. Also seemed like a lock Smith would win because people love him, and I guess he was solid in King Richard, but man, dude looked pretty stupid tonight

1. Isn't her medical condition alopecia? I get that hair means a lot more for women, but as a bald man who has heard it all....yawn. It may have been a bad joke but hardly tasteless or insensitive. It's not like the medical condition he made a joke about was cancer or something. People need to loosen up if that's what offends them or they think justifies others' offense taken. Life must be hard. Plus, from what I saw it looks like Will initially laughed (could've been a nervous laugh, of course) and Jada took visible offense.

2. They've put their life on the table to talk about. Don't see how they get to draw the line for when others can and cannot.

There is no excuse for that even if Rock shouldn’t have made the joke. He should have been escorted out for that. And the toxic masculinity in that acceptance speech can go fly a kite too

I was hoping that Power of the Dog would still win, but I was not surprised at CODA pulling through. It was the crowd pleaser.

I would be genuinely amazed if CODA managed to eek out a best picture win with only 3 nominations and no precursors other than SAG.

I thought the celebration during the in memoriam was more of a distraction.
Overall they should simplify the awards. It’s too much and the editing of the pre recorded awards were awkward.
I definitely want to see Coda but some of the nominated movies I have zero interest in seeing.

As I sober up I'm like, you know what at least we had an all-time GOAT win best director, that's three women, and two in a row, you love to see that. Even if the rest was kind of mess.
