Never seen Better Off Dead? That’s kinda the joke. It’s an absurd/surreal take on the 80s teen comedy.wtf is that thing. I s that a octopus crab hybrid?

If you haven't, throw on another Amazon release from this year's Sundance that deals with similar themes....NannyAnother end of year catch-up surprise. Really liked Mariama Diallo's feature debut Master streaming now on Prime.
Haven't seen a whole lot of buzz around it, but it's a sharp examination of the haunting persistence of racism via microagressions and performative allyship via the psychological horror sub-genre.
Master (2022)
At an elite New England university built on the site of a Salem-era gallows hill, two black women strive to find their place. Navigating politics and privilege, they encounter increasingly terrifying manifestations of the school's haunted past… and present.letterboxd.com

It's on my list (as well as the director's shorts on Criterion). Gotta catch Nanny before voting closes on Bloody Disgusting/Horror Queers's annual genre awards by the 31st.If you haven't, throw on another Amazon release from this year's Sundance that deals with similar themes....Nanny
I don't think so. I think only as a rental (at least if you go a legit streaming route...)Is this on any streaming services yet?
ONE OF USSpeaking of violent nights, I watched Tokyo Godfathers for the first time last night and it was amazing.
A Wounded Fawn is so good. It's on my list (as well as the director's shorts on Criterion). Gotta catch Nanny before voting closes on Bloody Disgusting/Horror Queers's annual genre awards by the 31st.
Currently watching an "evil Santa" movie to fulfill their daily HQ Advent Calendar challenge, (went with the Dutch horror comedy Sint aka Saint) and I'll get back to my 2022 catch-up right after.
Gonna for sure catch Watcher, Nanny, A Wounded Fawn, Terrifier 2, Glass Onion and No Exit since they are available on my streaming subs. There's only 6 other nominees that I won't have seen since they are only VOD, but I might rent one or two if I feel it might sway my vote.
