Not a movie but have you watched Band Of Brothers? I feel like it’s a better version of Saving Private Ryan stretched out over a 10 episode miniseries. Saving Private Ryan is fantastic but as far as war movies go, there are a handful I enjoy more. Inglorious Basterds, MASH, Dunkirk, Three Kings, and probably my favorite, The Thin Red Line. Still, I feel like Band of Brothers tops them all.

I always wanted to watch Band of Brothers, but still have never gotten around to it. And never seen The Thin Red Line! Glory is another one I havent seen for whatever reason either that I've wanted to.

I forgot about Platoon! That would be on my list, I love the first part of Full Metal Jacket but the second half loses some steam.

also forgot about The Great Escape which is pretty fantastic too.

Yeah Great Escape is a really fun one. Seen that not too long ago for the first time.

I probably watch BOB all the way through at least once a year. I ended up buying and reading the book too which is also a great read.

My random memory of BOB is when I briefly moved out to Appleton, WI after I graduated high school. I worked in the electronics department at Walmart for maybe a week and a half, and in that time was when BOB came out on DVD. I was constantly being asked where it was stocked, and was annoying the shit out of me. Probably why I stopped coming in.

Watched Minority Report for the first time earlier. That Spielberg fella really knows how to make a movie, huh?

I have! I used to watch it at least once a year but it’s been awhile since I’ve watched it. One of the greatest shows ever. Still prefer Saving Private Ryan, though

Reg. Tremors: I noticed after Rhonda (science girl) looses her pants and boots, she is given a new pair of pants and the shoes are the same as the ones Hooper wears in Jaws. It's probably just a coincidence but since Tremors is kinda "Jaws in the desert" i thought it was pretty funny that the science person in each movie wears the same shoes.

A couple of weeks ago we spent a few days in the Poconos and I went to my first drive in. They show as many 35mm as they can and we did a double feature of lesser known Romero films. Monkeyshines and The Dark Half.

Same, now that I'm more familiar with the narrative structure when I play it back in my head. The more I play it back, the more I think RDJ deserves more credit (for me). I couldn't help thinking "old Iron Man in black and white old Iron Man in black and white" but I think the nuance was definitely there to tie it all together.

I think that Ninja Turtles movie looks great, and I think I have to see it in a theater. The animation alone looks amazing. I haven’t liked anything Ninja Turtles since I was obsessed with the first two original movies in the 90s.
