Movies

Watched Reptile recently. It was pretty decent. I like the story / plot. Benacio Del Toro was great. JT's acting is i dont know how to describe. The scene where he gets angry at the couple for taking pictures and reenacting his GF's death felt so fake I laughed. Although maybe that was the point as his anger was probably fake since he's the one who wanted his wife dead.. Overall, I enjoyed it, its a bit long but worth it in the end.
We watched this last night and I enjoyed it, but my wife thought it was terrible 🤷

this is disappointing, though not unexpected

also, the target nearest me just remodeled their media section and there's only one 4ft space left for movies and cds. more vinyl and books space, though.

i'll be physical media 4 life, yo. it just sucks the options may be significantly more limited going forward.

Best Buy was a the main place I purchased CDs and VHS/DVDs until the late 10s. The few times I’ve been in Best Buy over the last 10+ years has been few and far between.

Same here. Although when I lived in Michigan as a kid I would go to Media Play (and I still miss that store). I usually go to Best Buy once a year to look around but haven't bought anything in store from them in years.

Best Buy now is most frequently visited by people wanting to look at in store displays of Cameras but end up buying them online elsewhere for less. To the point where that is pretty much a meme on Reddit.

No one buys anything there anymore.

I enjoy looking at appliances. I don't need any, but I like looking at them there.

working in-store in the best buy media department (music/movies/video games/pc software) was my first real job as a kid and at the very least has shaped how i organize all my shit to this day. the whole center of the store was my playground, and as time has gone on (and on and on), watching the media retail space dwindle to nothing has been depressing and bittersweet, so this announcement and the finality of it all has hit a bit harder than it should, a real 'it's the end of an era, old man' type feeling.

The only movie by the wrong Paul Anderson i like. I haven't seen it since maybe 2000 but seeing it now it's funny how many similarities there are to Alien, story-wise. Also, the opening and end credits having some techno dance song gives the movie a very different vibe and is totally out of place. You think you're about to watch, and then watched, some action movie starring a young Jason Statham or something.

I’ve got a soft spot for his Mortal Kombat.
