Movies

i might have said it before in here, i don't remember, but watching this post-covid lockdowns made the first half of the movie a prescient horror film in its own right.

First non-streaming watch.

I've always wondered how the whole Predator thing works. They get sent to a planet, hunt until they're killed, then another one arrives that's more skilled and with upgraded weaponry. Do they have some kind of monitor on them that feeds data to a nearby ship where they then process that info to make the next one better? Is there some kind of body cam on it where some scientors watch the footage like:
"Aww, Brian, that was terrible! Why you let that human do you like that smh
Hey!
Next one going down there, just don't be a complete idiot and you'll do fine!"

I always wished they could've made it work to have Aliens vs. Predator but set in the Aliens universe and not that crap set on Earth. The excellent Dark Horse Comics series could've been the inspiration.

Maxxxine kind of bad, tragically :(
Meh, as much as I loved the first two, it's hard for me to imagine that this one will be a miss for me. Of course, for me to find that out, I'd have to be able to go see it first, but my lovely rural Kentucky theater has apparently decided that there were other more pressing new releases deserving of their screens this weekend, such as the faith-based Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.

From the people who brought you last years fake box office hit Sound Of Freedom, based on a lie and loved by far-right conspiracy nut jobs.

I wonder what those fuckos will release next year to complete the "Sound" trilogy.

I was so blown away by the last film that I went back the next morning to watch it again and have seen it more than any other movie that's come out in the last decade. It was truly a feat of cinema genius. This one doesn't rise to that level, but I still loved every minute of it expect for Thor's nose. And as much as Theron was perfect in the role, I've loved everything Anya Taylor-Joy has done and she did not disappoint. Especially with how sparse her dialog is, she still dominated her scenes. I'll be rewatching this tomorrow too. Need to get it on Blu-ray so I can double feature it. And I hope to all that is holy that Miller makes another. He has a unique vision and it translates so well on the screen.
