Is it this one?

Yeah, that's it. Not Criterion like I thought. Been a while since I pulled it out, it's a really nice package which is why my memory was wonky about it. Definitely worth it, but now I'm after that 4k one. Didn't know they'd done that.

Has anyone else gone to the Criterion Collection area at Barnes and Noble and pretended you're in your very own Criterion closet segment? I feel people would be disappointed with my selections as not being obscure enough.

I'm one of those "basic" Criterion fans whose selections wouldn't be cool enough. A lot of those deep picks are ones I found interesting to watch once, but don't necessarily want/need to own to watch again.
You'd be ahead of the curve if you didn't pick Being There; it's like there's a rule that every third person in the Criterion Closet has to praise Being There.

Pretty based noms (except for when they're not lol usual Globes). We're looking at a very real possibility of oscar-nominated The Substance soon. Would love to wee Challengers get more love there too, glad HFPA enjoyed it.

The nom for Squid Game has to be based on screeners, yeah? Guess that's an indication S2 will be good. (Anything releasing on Dec. 26 might as well count toward the next awards cycle.)

Same/similar could be said for Nightbitch. That's been out for three days! (Though it sounds like that won't trend as horror-heavy as I'd hoped. The book wasn't really my thing.)

I had seen My Old Ass pop up (note: I see the interesting string of words here) on Prime but do not know if I would have seen it if a few folks here had not mentioned it. Really glad I watched it.

I thought it was a pretty unique concept. Although I am not encyclopedic about movies so maybe it is a retread. Anyway, really well executed.

I predicted the reason Old Ass told Young Ass to avoid Chad from the get go but, nonetheless, that scene in the last fifteen minutes was a gut punch. I didn't cry....you cried!!!

Also, I loved one of the conversations between Chad and Elliot when they took one of their first boat rides.....regarding appreciating moments while you're in them and coming back to places. Chad asks her if she remembers the LAST time she ever played pretend with her friends growing up. As a 40+ year old that shit hit hard. And, as Elliot remarked, it was deep. Chad said how you don't realize the last time you would pull your bicycle in the garage and lower it never to do the same thing will be the last time when you're in it so you don't appreciate it. Man, some great dialogue.

I agree. We saw it as a mystery movie at Movie Tavern before wide release. It was well done and touching.
