Party up moodge, it’s the June 2023 Vinyl Challenge!!

Day 14
Mime - Bowie was hired to go on tour with T-Rex as their opening act. As a mime.
Play a not so great career choice

Blondie "Autoamerican" (1980 Chrysalis; 2022 reissue)
Blondie had a series of 5 excellent new wave records, culminating with this one, which is gloriously all over the place but somehow holds up and works (and includes two #1 hits). But then things took a turn. Debbie Harry's next career move was to go solo, which for all intents and purposes made sense, but she released the record "KooKoo" which failed miserably. Then the band returned with "The Hunter", which is, well, not good (I could actually have played The Hunter but I don't feel like subjecting myself to it right now). In an unexpected twist, Blondie did make a comeback during the late 90's with another #1 hit.

I am not playing Cut The Crap because that album does not exist in this timeline. Instead The Clash called it quits after this beast.

Career killer one: fire the guy who wrote your biggest hit (Topper Headon)
Career killer two: fire the other guy who is a very good song writer (Mick Jones)
Career killer three: release Cut the Crap

They are lucky that pretty much the entire world has collectively blocked that POS from their memories.

I have this CD. I don't know why, but I have it and it's perfect for this prompt. I am not happy with the shit @jamieanderson1968 is making me listen to in this challenge though, lol.

And we have a winner!

Day 12
Kabbalah - David (in)famously dabbled in the occult in the 70s (don’t do drugs kids).
Play something mystical or related to the occult

The Electric Company... Satan is in these grooves, not fool yourself into thinking this isn't anything more than a recruitment record for the devil himself!!! Educational, riiiiight! Yeah I don't think I have any records by people into the occult, what a shitty vanilla record collection!! Playing this backwards tonight

In anticipation of tomorrow's post and the title of this challenge "Party up moodge". Bowie used non-sensical word combinations or rhyming slang or secret languages, Nasdat being one of them.

With Girl Loves Me from Blackstar most of the lyrics are Nasdat or Polari

Cheena so sound, so titi up this malchick, say
Party up moodge, nanti vellocet round on Tuesday
Real bad dizzy snatch making all the omies mad – Thursday
Popo blind to the polly in the hole by Friday

This can be interpreted as

Girl so sound, so pretty up this boy, say
Party up man, no drugs round on Tuesday
Great pussy making all the men mad – Thursday
Police blind to the money in the hole by Friday

Day 13 - Laughing Gnome

Fleetwood Mac - Tango in the Night
“Family Man”

Starting with Tusk; Buckingham was down to make weird little experimental songs and even when they aren’t great I don’t dislike em for the most part. Family Man however is just plain annoying and is definitely my least favorite Mac song

Day 15
Nadsat. A fictional slang language Anthony Burgess created for his novel A Clockwork Orange. Bowie made use of these words throughout his career, especially in Girl Loves Me
Play something with made up or unintelligible lyrics or vocals

Ding a ding dang my dang a long ling long...

Ministry - ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ

Besides featuring a full playthrough of No Code, this particular show features both Evenflow and Yellow Ledbetter, both of which have lyrics that have long been up for interpretation.
