This is very similar to the couple who went to Disneyland. They went to a restaurant, the wife had a severe food allergy, they told the waiter not to put that certain thing in the food but the kitchen still put it in. She ate it, had a reaction and died. But because the couple agreed to terms for Disney+ 5 years prior, the husband couldn’t sue.Couple can't sue Uber after daughter clicked away trial rights on Uber Eats
A couple, badly hurt in an Uber crash, can’t sue the company because their daughter once waived trial rights while using Uber Eats — a fateful click that prevents the family from suing the tech giant, a New Jersey appellate court ruled.www.aol.com
We need to make arbitration clauses as part of terms of service or a requirement of lacing in a order (such as with Uber Eats) illegal.
They are very anti consumer and most consumes probably don't even know they are entering into that kind of contact.
Disney eventually decided to let that one go to trial because the press was too bad. This is very similar to the couple who went to Disneyland. This has always been the case. It’s called betterment basically insurance companies owe to but you back to where you were, not in a better place. If your roof already needed to be replaced due to age, insurance companies would not owe you a brand new roof. This is always a shock to most people because they don’t understand how insurance works. It’s not a shady practice or the insurance company screwing someone over. It’s the way the policy is written and what the policy holder is paying monthly premiums for. They will no only pay a depreciated value of the roof based on it's age. A lot pf policies won't pay the full value of replacing the roof.
All policies have limits. People are often under insured because they want to save on premiums. Again, being ignorant to how insurance works does not make the insurance provider the bad guy.Did you have flood insurance and your house washed away? Most policies have limits on coverage and are not designed for total house loss and will not provide you coverage for that.
Deductibles are usually dependent on monthly premiums. If you choose a lower monthly premium then you will likely have higher deductibles.Anyone who was just getting by and not affluent are likely gong to be pushed over the edge and into bankruptcy.
Correct, There should be safeguards in place to ensure that people are not financially destroyed as the result of a natural disaster, those safeguards should come from the federal government by way of disaster relief not from private insurance.Anyone who was just getting by and not affluent are likely gong to be pushed over the edge and into bankruptcy.

Insurance across the board has increased in price for everyone. Is not due to greed, many insurance companies are mutual companies, they are owned by their policy holders; this is due to climate change and the increased risk of natural disasters over the past decade. If they did not raise rates they would not be viable business and no one would have insurance.

Look. I am not a fan of corporations in general and I am certain that shady shit has happened and people sometimes get fucked over. I would call that out when I see it but most of the animus I see of people upset about property insurance comes from people not understanding the service that they are paying for. I get it. I would be just as uninformed if I didn’t work in the industry but knowing what I know, I am confident that when most people are upset about their insurance coverage it’s because they don’t understand it, and are desperate and angry. I empathize with their situations and understand why they would feel how they do. It’s just usually a bit misdirected.Spoken like someone who works in Insurance...
I don't see how anyone can get home insurance in Florida. It's like home insurance in fire prone parts of California. And Florida is about to be hit by a massive hurricane later this week. Hopefully it steers clear of already destroyed areas of the peninsula but I don't see how homes will be affordable in Florida going forward without an assumption that your house is gone if a hurricane comes through and it will not be rebuilt on someone else's dime.
It's just flat disgusting that Republicans played politics with the budget this year and it's going to hurt lots of people in storm damaged areas. I think Biden needs to force Congress back into session to get the FEMA budget resolved.
I still feel optimistic. I feel like Harris has done everything you could ask of her for the most part. She will win by more than the media is projecting but obviously still too close for comfort. I think she manages to win the blue wall states by wide enough margins (all have democratic Governors who will likely ensure there won’t be too much funny business) that we will know that night that she won. I think she had a coins flip chance of winning the other 4 battleground states. I think Georgia will be the toughest challenge since their Republican controlled state with some shady election commission shit going on. I am guessing though once it becomes clear that Harris will win regardless that people might not push as hard with challenging the results. How we feeling a month out people? I’m getting less and less optimistic Harris wins by the day. I just feel like decency and truth don’t seem to matter to a large part of the American electorate anymore. This race shouldn’t be close, we are living in a real life Idiocracy. With everything going in the world we need rational decent people in charge, not some vindictive crazed madman!
I so hope you are right. I mean if she wins the blue wall, Nevada and Nebraska’s 2nd district that’s all she needs. Seemingly not that big of a Hail Mary, just so much misinformation these days.I still feel optimistic. I feel like Harris has done everything you could ask of her for the most part. all he has are scare tactics and boogiemen. Kamala might not be a perfect candidate but she offers more than that. Trump won a single election and that was when he was a bit of “disruptor” and against a terrible candidate who ran a terrible campaign. Most people who haven’t drank the MAGA kool-aid acknowledge the existential threat that Trump represents. There is a new “silent majority” and it’s anti-MAGA. They don’t wear stupid fucking hats or have giant flags waving off the back of their $80k pick ups. They are regular people who are tired of this shit and they will make it clear on Election Day by delivering a giant “fuck you” to that giant orange piece of shit.I so hope you are right. I know, I just hate sounding like a corporate shill.I'm just razzin' ya' Friend. I actually really dig and appreciate your breakdown.
