Absolutely. I was really taken by how accurate Rorty's analyses were for the first Trump election. Very spot on. Kind of glad he didn't live to see it play out.scary, but applies to first trump term as well and is certainly the appeal of several right-wing populists over europe as well
I deleted my Twitter account, just too many bots and jerks for me. Threads is nice but still part of FB. Bluesky has some great blocking features and other users have created lists for trolls and MAGA's angry "winners". It does require more effort to follow, engage with comments, and to build a following because their algorithm isn't built to sell porn and push lies and division. Within search there are grouped feeds too, you can add them to your main page like another tab. There's ones for new users, cat photos, science, film, TV fandoms, lots of furries, quite a bit of hanging dong, and other fun stuff someone may be into. With the blocking, I've found a really engaging community that feels like Twitter 10-15 years ago. There has been an influx of users and activity since the election, if you're looking for a way to still feel connected, or if your an ex-twitter fiend like Me, it feels like a better alternative.
I tried when it first came out and I left Twitter, but it was very weak then so I gave up on it quickly. I've heard it hasn't improved a whole lot since, but maybe now it will start to with a new round of Twitter exits.I tried to switch over to Bluesky, but not enough official accounts have been created there yet from the official accounts I rely on on Twitter. I am hopeful to complete the switchover at some point though.
I haven’t finished listening to it yet, but last week’s weekly show is a fascinating and convincing analysis of what exactly this election means and the harm the electorate may have done to itself. By rejecting the Biden administration, it seems we may have entrenched ourself in more neo-lib nonsense and a continuation of Reaganomics. What Donald Trump’s Win Means For Inflation — TIME
Economists say his proposals could drive up the costs of apparel, toys, appliances, and foodapple.news
Everything Trump has promised on the campaign trail will only increase inflationary pressure. Thus, people who's largest concern was the economy and inflation are going to see inflation grow again.
I joined about 15 months ago, but it never really clicked with me. I'm back on it and trying to find people to follow. It has definitely improved from what it was.I tried when it first came out and I left Twitter, but it was very weak then so I gave up on it quickly. Show your faces, you weaselly fucksticks...
These “people” need to feel afraid again. They are way to comfortable in public. It’s always good to punch a nazi.Show your faces, you weaselly fucksticks...
Does he know what Antifa stands for? LolI shared this with my father to prove to him that Trump and his supporters are far right fashits.
His response was I need to stop listening to CNN and that he heard from a reliable source that those nazi's are Antifa operatives.
Does he know what Antifa stands for? Lol
I don't even know what Antifa stands for. And I thought it doesn't exist and is not an actual organized terrorist group as the right always claims.

There is no "group" but it does stand for Anti fascist.
In any case, that name wouldn't mean anything to my father. As this is all theater and Antifa is in disguise and trying to give conservatives a bad look.
