It's surely a consideration I'm sure many of us here have made.. Over the past 6 years or so (since the Trump administration) my wife and I have, more or less, jokingly stated that we should move elsewhere (out of the country). But how daunting of a thought - quitting our jobs, leaving our families, going somewhere with two young children to live where we would know nobody, trying to find adequate housing and employment... What a life altering decision. And yet, despite all of that, it's starting to seem like the only way to a potentially better life for some. Do I blame or think ill of anyone who would choose to leave? Hell no. Is there merit to sticking around to "fighting it out"? Surely some. But, unfortunately, for many, especially within the last week or two, they would be fighting a losing battle.. Where do you draw the line on this decision to leave or to stay? Our country is diving faster into more bitter divisiveness and, likely, its inevitable demise. The next term, as you said, is looking scarier than ever. Sorry, for the rambling response here.. there's just so much shit happening, so many live being affected. And with the 4th of July, Independence Day, upon us, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to muster up any reason to celebrate anymore.I wonder how many people in your situation, living in northern states, are considering looking for employment up in Ontario and starting the process to immigrate? How many will up and quit and leave instead of fighting it out? It's not like its all rosy up here, and you guys tend to have influence on our fringe groups (which grow and get more and more vocal, as evidenced by our "convoy" people), but for all its flaws our legal system hasn't been polarized and hopefully won't be. It's crazy the direction you're all heading in. And despite all that's been going on, rulings on electoral law that may come in your next term is looking even scarier to me than anything to date.
