Republicans are Gutless.

Now we have another nominee this morning, who's a MAGA guy and we'll see what happens. it should speak volumes that on the floor, these ass hats get close, but behind closed doors and by hidden votes, these guys still can't get enough votes to hit the floor.

It's not funny, it's horrifying. A hand full of Republicans needs to grow a pair, but since they all made their deal with the devil, now they're screwed, and taking the American people with them. God help us if the Reps win the White House.

3 times he was called and informed that they have not received prior authorization yet and would have to cancel the appointment. He informed them that he would be self pay and not using his insurance. He has a HDCP plan it would have to pay for the MRI anyways. The first 2 phone calls were followed by a text message stating that his appointment had automatically been canceled.

When he called back he was informed that his original appointment was no longer available and they would have to reschedule. After the third call and not receiving a later text that his appointment had been automatically canceled he thought he was all set. But nope. Just as they were wapping up the scan a hospital administrator came barging in yelling for them to hold up. They don't have prior authorization. Well, the scan had just been completed, and the admin said they would have to throw the results away because they didn't have prior authorization. Again, this guy stated that he's self pay and not using his insurance. He was then told that's now how it was coded in the system and that it's too late to change it. That they need to throw the results away and would have to schedule another appointment as self pay.



Why on earth would they need to throw the results away? Is there further processing / development that needs to be done that that would have incorrect billing information that they can't correct? And why can't they just correct it?

Also, why is it so hard to get an appointment as self pay?

Sounds like the hospital in scrubs. I think it’s actually illegal for them to “throw away” the scans. Patient should 1000% sue.

If on top of that he's still subject to the same rule of one person being able to initiate a motion to vacate? The rule of one was in place for most of the history of the house until Pelosi changed it and it hadn't been used in a century. Not that I wouldn't like to watch the party implode more, I think it would be political suicide even for a Republican to do that again so soon after this fiasco. Not to mention those who would be most likely to do that are on the same authoritarian anti-democracy flank as Johnson. I am more cynical with how they've been maneuvering to thwart elections and gerrymander their way to holding onto power, making me less convinced that if they succeed in electing a new speaker it will be bad for them rather than consolidate power even more with the worst elements.

But the are so many moving parts right now that any one of them could make the whole edifice of American democracy topple.
