Political Discussion

Apparently it is a very common scenario where police don't pay for damages made during an arrest.

Also, following a discussion on this on another forum, and someone chimed in that one of their friends currently is suing the police to pay for damages and are afraid because of this ruling they will get nothing. In this case, while they were at work, police were pursuing a suspect who broke into their apartment through an open window. Police kicked down the door and fires multiple rounds of tear gas into the apartment. The police never paid for the damages. The landlord evicted the renter even though they have no relation to the suspect, was just a random act. And the landlord sued in court for the renter to foot the bill for the repair costs. Which the court ruled the renter had to pay for the damages. So the renter was now trying to sue to police to recover the costs.

Jim Jordan just lost his third vote. And once again, he got fewer votes than in the previous attempt :ROFLMAO:

Not trending well for him, let's see if he keeps trying.

Well much like ignoring sexual assault claims, he'll ignore the results of this repudiation by his peers.

Anybody starting to feel like maybe we're witnessing the first days of the actual schism of the GOP that has been teased since the proto-Tea Party days? It's not even like there's a sensible moderate candidate that they just can't solidify a majority around; they've got nothing. I don't know how House Republicans come back from this. They're taking a razor-thin majority that they barely eked out in the first place and just flushing it away. If retaking the Senate weren't seriously in play, their handling of the House combined with their slate of potential presidential nominees (including the presumptive primary winner possibly being a convicted felon before Election Day) would seem to indicate some pretty GRIM stakes for Republicans in 2024.

Edit: in a normal world, at least. In *this* world it probably all adds up to them sweeping the ballot.
Interesting you mentioned the schism, since u just read this yesterday
