I haven't been keeping up with things, so maybe people here know more information on what's what. But last week my father was texting me all kinds of stuff about the Mar-a-Lago raid and sending me tweets from Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The sums of what he sent me was Biden broke federal law, and is in deep shit. It's not looking good for the Biden Administration. Something about how Biden authorized deadly force when they went in to raid Mar-a-Lago.

So the FBI has a deadly force provision on every warrant it issues. The conservatives lost their mind over this information. (I honestly don’t know how it was brought to light) The talking heads have been going on about how it was an assassination attempt.

It’s actual fake news.

The Right only work in bad faith and there are many useful idiots that will parrot the “outrage”. Anyone with even an a slight amount of depth understands how this all works but their whole party revolves around victimhood and this fits that narrative.

Do you ever bring up all the shit your dad got wrong? I would have a “receipts” folder and send him screenshots of his old bullshit that he got completely wrong on the regular. Maybe eventually he will get tired of it and look for different news sources or at the very least stop sending his wacko propaganda to you.

I think you missed an opportunity, FIFY.

I think it’s begins out of laziness and complacency initially then, they figure out how easy and profitable it is to grift on the Right. You don’t have to tell jokes anymore just attack the left and you will rake in cash. Have you seen any of Jim Breuer or Rob Schneider’s stand up? Neither were exactly comedic geniuses to begin with but now their sets are almost completely bereft of actual jokes.

Nope.

I mean Letterman and Mulaney are legit funny without any of that and both of them seem to be doing fine.

And it’s not like any of it has hurt any of them (well maybe Chapelle and maybe just his legacy)

Schneider always sucked, but I like some of the early Breuer stuff and I'm sad that he's turned the dumb ass persona into just being a real dumb ass.

That is what I am saying. There a plenty of comedians that respect their craft and are willing to put in the work to develop jokes that work in our modern times. The lazy or complacent ones just keep trying to do thing the same way they did 20 years ago and get defensive when audiences call them out for not evolving.
