NBC just asked their reporter on the ground at the rally if any spectators were hit and that reporter said they don't know any details / can't tell from their vantage point. She's on the phone now, she was reporting live from the scene earlier, but secret service made the press leave the scene.
 
Man it really pisses me off to have all these politicians falling over themselves to say that violence has no place in our democracy. It's filled with violence! The police kill people every day. The military does too. There's all kinds of violence done to people without power. They only ever decry it when it happens to a rich and powerful person. Then it has no place. But if it happens to one of us, good luck getting them to care. They don't do shit for the kids murdered in their classrooms. They just hate when the crack in their class division is shown to be nothing but an illusion maintained by people who "behave." But enough years of treating people this way and they can't expect anything different. Political violence will happen. Just as 9/11 was "blowback" from decades of foreign policy that had screwed over people in the middle east, so too will this kind of event take place again. We have all of human history to see what happens when people are mistreated past their breaking point. Eventually some will snap, and some will plot, and most will fail and many of us will pay the cost with even more repression by the powerful who will wield the stick to keep their power. We're just repeating history at some level here. But the players at the top are more powerful and wealthier than they've ever been before and the planet is on fire so they know their control over the population is going to hit some natural limits that can't be bought off with middle class lifestyles like they did in the 60s and 70s. This time the stakes are more cataclysmic.

I wonder how the heck they got a weapon in there. I tried to go see him speak at a rally in Tennessee during the first election for a paper I was writing and I was turned away because I had a Swiss army knife in my pocket.

Ghost gun? You can print one with a 3d printer. It's made out of plastic and can't be detected by metal detectors. It's only could for a couple shots at most, but thats one way to get something in.

It could be a pissed off right winger. There have been several on the alt right who have been accusing Trump of selling out the movement and his forcing of the new abortion strategy in the GOP platform has some of the nuttier ones riled up too.

Even it was, not like any other Republican is going to believe that. Probably blame it on an illegal immigrant that poured over the border. You know shit like this doesn’t happen if everybody and their brother can get a weapon of war. They protected him way better than they do public school children that’s for sure.
