Day 4: “And now for something completely different..”

Kishi Bashi - Omoiyari

One of my favorite albums of 2019, and my introduction to Kishi Bashi. I quickly became obsessed and have all his albums and was able to see him twice on concert last year. And at the second show I was able to get a set list that was thrown into the crowd plus a sweet poster at the merch table.

Day 4 - Memorabilia

Fugazi - s/t

A great band from my well-worn copy of Michael Azerrad’s “Our Band Could Be Your Life” that a friend gave me for my birthday many years ago. In my early 20s I played in a hardcore band and we actually played a show at the Wilson Center in DC. The book and the album remind me of some wild times in my younger life.

Day 4 - Memorabilia

Could have gone with the Dead or Pearl Jam on this one, but PJ gets front and center in this pic. Been working from home for a few years, and my wife built me a fantastic desk for working that's also my main music area. My office has a few Pearl Jam posters in it, but the San Diego 2003 one is my all time favorite. My oldest daughter was about 7 at the time I went to this show, and this poster fit her personality perfectly at the time, and still does.

A few more posters - the Fenway one was an easy buy for me, Jackalopes are a family joke so I was thrilled to see it on the poster. And the San Diego 2013 poster is a thing of beauty.

Today is the two year anniversary of my last PJ show - the 2018 Fenway shows were so great. We were supposed to go to Toronto in March for the North American tour kickoff... :( So sad.

@Gavaxeman asked for two-fer posts today. Who am I to deny this man. Let's go three-fer. Ah hell, a four-fer it is...

Alice In Chains - Dirt

Saw AIC on this tour in '92 in a small club with Gruntruck and Screaming Trees as the openers. Stood on the side between Layne and Mike Starr all night yet, somehow, Jerry managed to fling a pick over my way.

Elton John - Rock Of the Westies

My first show was Elton John in 1976 on the "Louder Than Concorde But Not Quite As Pretty" Tour. Here's the tour book I bought that's somehow made it 44 years relatively unscathed.

And now a Beatles tie-in you didn't see coming...

The Black Crowes - Amorica

In days of yore when most all musical communication was done via the good 'ol USPS (mail something today, they need us right now), many bands kicked up fan clubs that involved sending a letter and a buck or two and getting something sent back to you on a semi-regular basis. Here's my mail from The Black Crowes circa December 1995 - holiday greetings from the band and a cassette of BC drummer Steve Gorman, who never sings, singing a cover of the Fab Four's 'I Wanna Be Your Man'.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

So this may come as a shock, but I quite like Fleetwood Mac. Since I got into them in 2014 I've collected alot of stuff with them. This picture is not including all of the solo stuff I have for each member, any of the pre Buckingham Nick's stuff I also have, various books I have from and about them (dont feel like digging in the garage for em lol) and a poster that seems to have vanished into thin air

Edit: while looking for the poster I found 2 magazines I forgot i had!
