The February Record Spin Challenge - It's All Connected, Maaaannnnn

15. Play a song or album that could be the theme song to an imaginary TV show whose soundtrack would also feature yesterday’s artist.

Tracking my connections thus far: Howard Jones --> Drive~By Truckers --> Kraftwerk --> David Bowie --> Muppets --> Debbie Gibson --> Bob Dylan --> Mike Ness --> Os Mutantes --> Tropicalia --> Emerson Lake & Palmer --> Skankin' Pickle --> Rolling Stones --> Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit

Ok, my TV show is a Twin Peaks / X-Files type show called Memphis Blues. Theme song would be Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues again. And it would star Bob Dylan and Jason Isbell as two cops that are paired up to investigate paranormal activity in the rural south while arguing about the true meaning of Bobs lyrics. And I would watch the hell out of it.

Bob Dylan ~ Blonde on Blonde

16. Play an album that someone involved in yesterday’s pick worked on (a musician, producer, artist, mastering, whatever!).

Bob Johnston produced Blonde on Blonde, and also produced this album.

Johnny Cash ~ Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison

Going from the Man in Black to the Black Album. Too bad I don't have Spinal Tap on vinyl though.

Metallica ~ Metallica

Day 14 - Reigning Sound - Shattered
Day 15 - Dolly Parton - Heartbreak Express

Dolly rides around hitting some stops and making Greg Cartwright's seemingly countless heartbreaks somehow feel a little better.
First stop: North Cackalacky.

Herbie Hancock – Head Hunters

"Watermelon Man" would make an excellent theme for a hip urban slice-of-life kinda show with some quirky cats and maybe a hint of magic realism. Nnamdi could potentially even star or co-star - he's got the right vibes for days.

18. Play an album you acquired from the same source, store, or method as yesterday’s pick.
Destroyer "Streethawk: A Seduction"
(2001 Misra; 2010 Merge reissue)
I ordered Wire's Pink Flag from Audiopile in BC via Discogs. In the same order was this record. Massive Attack's Blue Lines was in that box too. In retrospect a pretty great order because each is a fabulous pressing on top of being excellent yet quite distinct musically.
