Kate Bush - Hounds of Love

Following an outstanding experimental pop showing might have proved to be an impossible task for many, but not Kate Bush. Hounds of Love is arguably the greatest art pop record ever. Nothing but adulation from me.
The resurgence of Kate Bush's music thanks to Stranger Things is wonderful, but it has made this record somewhat harder to chase down.

Day 18

Paul Simon – Still Crazy After All These Years
Stevie Wonder won AOTY the two previous years in a row and then took a year off from releasing music, Paul Simon famously thanked Stevie for not releasing and album so he could win. Play an album by any artist who isnt Stevie Wonder

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever

I don't own a single Stevie Wonder record (shamefully), so I guess today becomes a free play.
I'll go with the latest from the young alt-pop superstar.

The first time I listened to this I was streaming from my phone while also playing a disc golf game I thought I'd completely turned the sounds off for and was amazed at the delicate melody of the occasional percussion that sounded like disc golf chains ... but, of course, it was my game on LOW volume instead of no volume! :ROFLMAO:

That’s funny! As an aside, I have every intention to get into disc golf this summer. Get me out doing different activities. Hopefully I follow through with it.

Day 16, Pt. 2: Dixie Chicks – Taking the Long Way
Play another album by a girl group

Horsegirl - Versions Of Modern Performance
CA0CECE2-5384-459F-BEC3-1FE29ED08931.jpeg
Horsegirl made my favorite album of 2022. If ya wanna know part why they are so fantastic, they are opening for a reunited Unwound currently and will soon be opening for Wilco (hometown shows for both) and they’ve been Covering GBV’s “As We Go Up, We Go Down” live recently. They really do check all the boxes for me.

Day 14
Play an album by another great songwriter.

The Boss can write some great songs.

Bruce Springsteen ‎– Nebraska
Columbia ‎– QC 38358, 1982/2015

Old pics because I listened to this a few nights ago and overwrote the images.

Play a duet album

While I LOVE Raising Sand (the later "Optimized For Vinyl" cut sounds amazing...but it's cut by Kevin Gray, so of course it does), I haven't felt the same way with this one...although I really haven't listened to it all that often.

Robert Plant | Alison Krauss – Raise The Roof

Day 15
Play an album by an artist you've seen in concert

Almost 23 years ago - March 27th, 2000

A decent show for my birthday - Muse, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers. I've gone to one live show since and that was Shellac in 2009. My tinnitus is just too bad for live shows anymore...I'm deaf for days.

Foo Fighters – The Colour And The Shape

Apollonia 6 – Apollonia 6

The follow-up to Vanity 6 took a whole new direction when Vanity departed Prince's camp and wound up replaced by Apollonia, hence the name change for the group!
