Vinyl Me Please Classics

Seriously. I really hope we get three or so this year. I know it’s not possible to have an AAA reissue for a lot of the “classic” titles, but there’s so many albums that need a good reissue. I would be pretty disappointed if they picked that Bobby Bland album as one of their blues albums. Outside of Ain’t No Love... I’m not feeling the album at all.
Really? I Wouldn't Treat A Dog and Yolanda are great. I need to listen to the whole album though, maybe I'm just a sucker for a Charleston mention . I would file it under Soul all day. At least based on those singles I'm familiar with.

Agree it is a bummer they haven't done more blues albums in need of a reissue. Hopefully someone starts doing them. Not sure it is worth importing the deagostini ones.

New hints. 1st looks like Billy Preston's The Kids & Me. I think the 2nd Classics is Barry White's debut album. 3rd could be Love Trilogy by Donna Summer. Her first album was only released in the Netherlands so you could argue Love to Love You Baby was her debut album and this was her 2nd album.

What do you think makes Bland less likely?

Yeah, January could be that Curtis Mayfield album or the other two frontrunners we had before (Billy Preston and Bobby Bland).

That Bobby Bland is a straight up soul album, i dont care if he's considered a blues artist. He's more R&B than blues at that point in his career.

Just curious, how are we getting to 9th w/ Billy Preston? On Allmusic and Discogs, The Kids & Me is his 14th album, and on Wikipedia, it shows as his 11th.

This is what Wiki tells me
The Kids & Me is the ninth studio album by Billy Preston, released in 1974, after his famous tour in Europe. This album included "You Are So Beautiful", later covered by Joe Cocker, and the hit single "Nothing from Nothing".

The album's dedication, reflected in the title, was to St. Elmo's Village, an inner-city children's recreation centre, located in mid-city Los Angeles.

Ooooh March Classics could be this: Love Is All Around (album) - Wikipedia

It was the 3rd album of Eric Burdon & War (if you count them as one group and not just as War) but it could be argued to be their 2nd album since it was recorded 2nd but not released until several years later.

Probalyb a stretch but since it's not Donna Summer, no idea what else it could be.

VMP twitter shot down that Billy Preston album, too. So it's likely that Bobby Bland. Maybe the Curtis.
