Vinyl Me Please Essentials

If that’s how you want to view it, ok then! 🐥

I do care about the behaviour of artists, but I guess not enough to put me off from enjoying their music. I don’t agree with their actions of course, but I don’t feel bad for enjoying it! 🤷‍♂️

I am clever too! I’m actually very smart! ☯💁‍♂️

And while Im on the subject - your ability to ignore it and carry on regardless is pretty remarkable also.

I'm happy to post pretty much what I'm thinking (but reign it in) I know my opinions on whether causing offense is a big deal is largely not concurred (especially on here) I could use a good Bill Hicks quote here, but I forget the whole.

Anyhow I applaud your directness, I think your a level above me.

To be fair I've been telling him to stop calling me various different pet names for about 2 years now and he pays no heed to it. I generally let it fly to a point but sloppy joe is not cool lol!

It doesn't exactly sound like something Don Draper would drink does it

I really love how much you read, especially on jazz artists you listen to! You know so much background information, it's honestly really impressive and actually inspiring too! I want to read more about Miles Davis' and his lifetime as well as I'm sure it would've been very interesting!
I do love a good book thats for sure :ROFLMAO:

His autobiography is considered one of the best jazz autobiographies on the market, he doesn't hold back and is very open (even when hes referring to the personal lives of other jazz musicians). Its a good start if you ever were wanting to read one anyway.

I used to call him Baby Joe all the time @ByersVinyl because he looks so young for his age and has a babyface! 👶🍼

Joe looked like he had such nice soft skin, like a baby, and looked like a cute Bjork cat as a teenager! So freaking adorable! 😸

I haven't had enough coffee for this one.

Wtf is a Bjork cat and how do you know so much about what Joe Mac looks like? All I see is a pint of Guinness.

We use to post pictures of ourselves in the VMP forum of us when we were young! They still have a thread on this forum I’m pretty sure where people post pics of themselves back then! It was my favourite thread on VMP forum! It was so cute seeing everyone photo’s and it was hilarious too! ♥️

And Joe just had a bit of an exotic, fragile, icy, innocent, semi-animated Kinda Bjork look! And if Joe was to be any animal, he would be a cat! 🐈

oh I thought a Bjork cat a pint of Guinness and Joe Mac were all one in the same.

Bjork Cat is going to be the new name of my band.
We were Joe Mac and the Babyfaces, but Bjork Cat captures the sound we are going for better.
It's me on Nord Drums, my buddy's wife on Keytar and my buddy on Electric Zither.
We play "Indie Thrash"
Think Tame Impala meets Power Trip, with a heavy 80s aesthetic heaped onto both genres.

We're hot in the Kombucha Bars in Queens and the Hip Parts of Brooklyn (near the Gowanas Canal).

You already have a song in which you're the hero!

(The most problematic thing about Adam Sandler are those horrible Grown Ups movies - or, really, just Adam Sandler movies in general)

But yea....I would not want to be called Sloppy Joe, either. Not cause I'm not sloppy. Imma sloppy motherfucker. But my name's not Joe so that would just seem rather random.

Surely it would be Sloppy Joe and the Baby Faces? no?

Finally got my LAGWAFIS! I'm sort of a fan of this album. Pictured clockwise from top left are the OG, Plain, Art Vinyl, and VMP pressings.

The VMP is by far the best packaging. Sleeve is thick, heavy gatefold, and that image in the middle is hilarious-- I'm pretty sure those are the original CD blister packs, someone correct me if I'm wrong? I keep meaning to buy one for the novelty of it.

In terms of sound, I thought it was.... fine! About as good as the Art Vinyl pressing, which also has the original choral version of the first track. My copy was a little noisy, which shouldn't be a huge surprise since it was pressed at GZ. I'm actually a bit disappointed by this, since I expected a nice new master would elevate this record, but honestly the AVLP sounds just as good and maybe better. I don't know what sourcing the AVLP people used, or who mastered it, or really much of anything-- it was a hard record to track down. The VMP version is easily better than the Plain and the original though.

Anyway, I'm happy I have this. Like I said, this is easily a top 5 album for me. The VMP packaging is beautiful, I just wish they used a different mastering engineer, or pressed it somewhere better, or something, because it's definitely not as good as it could be. Oh well!
