Vinyl Me Please Essentials

This is Some Good Shit™

Edit: but RIP Maggot Brain :(
I want my Maggot Brain!!! 😭😭😭😭😭

So excited that 1993 is hip-hop though! I’m hoping we either get A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders, or Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage! Both albums need a quality reissue; both pressing I have suck!

Really, really, really looking forward to seeing what that 1993 Essentials is now, especially as it’s very likely it’ll be one of those two albums! It could be Wu-Tang Clan, Onyx or Digable Planets, but I feel like it’s not any of those three!

Also, I’m really happy the July Essentials being The Mars Volta’s Deloused in The Conatorium! I listened to that album yesterday and was actually very impressed! It’s a catchy album and I love the tight grooves on it! I also really like the alternative album cover VMP are doing and the colour variant looks great!

Overall, I think the Essentials Mars Volta pick was excellent and I hope the following two Essentials ROTM picks are great as well! I have a very good feeling about September (please be Black Moon or A Tribe Called Quest), but I’m not too sure about August! Hope we don’t get another Jim Sullivan-like album for the August Essentials pick!

If the 1971 folk is not a female artist, here is my guess (not my preference) for Sept:

I think this may be a joke and if so it’s over my head but I will play it straight. VMP already released Very Necessary as a R&HH ROTM May of last year…

I know Now Again just did a reissue of it but if it's Mark Fry "Dreaming with Alice" they might as well just take my money now!!

Wiki says 71 discogs 72...Which one does VMP use again?

Typically wiki. Which is what gave me some (false) hope for Walt Dickerson as September's Classics.

I'm assuming that's CAD? Man, that hurts when my previous month-to-month came to like $55 CAD per month.
Yeah that's tough to stomach. I really want De-Loused, but the only other album they have that I might even remotely want is Spiritualized...I'd pay $60+ CAD for De-Loused on its own no problem, but I don't want to spend three times that just to guarantee I get it and then two other albums I could take or leave.

You should find a fellow Canadian buddy on here that doesn’t want Mars Volta and see if they would take one of the other ROTM off your hands I wouldn’t mind doing that Stateside if one of the Upcoming months end up being ATCQ.

I mean I MIGHT be able to add it as a second add on. I'm not sure if you can get the same album twice in the same order. I know you could before but I feel like they may have stopped this?

I don't like Mars Volta, like at all. So I'm waiting to see what the other tracks are and will likely go for one of those or swap. Either way, one option would be for me to keep it for you since Essentials has been my main track and just add a second track for myself.
