Explain how I'm getting all riled up by Future? I've said in a conversation to Nathan only yesterday that it's not certain to be Future. Could still be Nicki. Could Still be something else entirelyI think I’m speaking very plainly.
You’re getting all riled up about Future, and it’s not even a confirmed pick at this point.
I think confirmation bias is in effect here. I don’t recall an RHH pick that was unanimously considered poor.
It’s about to be 3 in a row.I think I’m speaking very plainly.

Yeah, fuck language, right? Who cares if we express ourselves clearly?I don't think discussing a potential pick being disappointing is getting riled up so much as spending a page going at someone because you feel they used a word incorrectly.
It was clear enough to me.Yeah, fuck language, right? Who cares if we express ourselves clearly?
It was clear enough to me.
Its not the first time either. Very first interaction I ever had with this guy was last Friday. Never seen nor heard of him before and he picked out one part of something I had to say then and went at me for that too. Its clear to me he has an issue with me which is fine, I honestly don't mind. I'm intrigued to see what else he comes out with next tbhI don't think discussing a potential pick being disappointing is getting riled up so much as spending a page going at someone because you feel they used a word incorrectly.

I actually don't have a problem with you, and I don't feel that I have been offensive. I have a perspective and and communicating it. Sorry that it's difficult for you to hear and that I've made you sad. You ok?Its not the first time either. Very first interaction I ever had with this guy was last Friday. If you're correct, and he expressed himself clearly, then he is saying that when a curator doesn't curate to his individual tastes, then "bad curation" has occurred. And so I asked questions about it. Does this seem unreasonable to you?He expressed himself clearly. Maybe it’s a comprehension issue.
This gets to the heart of my point. It's not about whether a pick is "good" or "bad", it's about how it's received by the individuals subscribed over time.Still blown away by anyone thinking Teflon Don was a poor selection. One of the best rap albums of the decade.
Are you subscribed? Seems odd to me that, with your view of how the curation should happen and your opinion about their picks that you would be. Just curious.TBH, curation doesn’t happen with VMP for other reasons. Albeit there are many definitions, allow me to cherry pick one:
“...the selection, organization, and presentation of online content, merchandise, information, etc., typically using professional or expert knowledge.“
I don’t see the staffers as having professional or expert knowledge. I mean, we’ve read their hackneyed writing about albums.
I look at it that RHH should be the essential RHH albums. Would I buy Future or others that have come through the pipelines on my own? Maybe. But would I expect them to be part of a curation? Heck, no.
Unless the theme of your curation is random albums that rights can be secured for and they think they can make money off of. But that seems like a contradiction in terms there.
But just like haters gonna hate...arguers gonna argue.
Take the L...it’ll be alright. With the right seasoning crow can be delicious.
I'm totally fine. Again for the 2nd time in less than a week you haven't made me sad. I'm trying to understand your angle though.I actually don't have a problem with you, and I don't feel that I have been offensive. I have a perspective and and communicating it. Sorry that it's difficult for you to hear and that I've made you sad. You ok?
It is obvious to me that you're unable to understand my point, so I'll just drop it. I'm sorry I upset you.I'm totally fine. Again for the 2nd time in less than a week you haven't made me sad. I'm trying to understand your angle though.
Last Friday I said Nicki Minaj Anaconda was noise to me. I stand by that. You selected that part of everything I said and hit me with an eye roll gif. Proceeding into a back & forth with me then much like today & completely without a real conversation between us just crap. Today I said bad curation, again just another opinion of mine not a factual statement.
While other people for example can tear down albums I said I like (last train to paris & honest) much more aggressively with their opinion than i, by saying its mediocre, terrible pick, worst vmp pick ever, I hope they never press these albums they are just awful etc and you happily let that go by?
Why is that? OK you don't have a problem with me but you have issues with things I say. I've tried to have proper conversation with you, I've asked you questions and no answers. Just passive aggressive all the time I don't get it
××× for the record the person who tore down the albums I like never offended me and could never offend me I love their presence in here way too much nor do I want anyone to go at them for it, just using it as an example to try understand why ones opinion slides while mine can not ×××
I can't seem to have a conversation with only you though? Your the one with the problem not me. You can mute, block, ignore me if you like. Will make your life much easier it seemsHonestly dude, you need to calm down. If you can't have a reasonable conversation where someone disagrees with you...
You seem a bit sad.
I am subscribed to VMP. But I jump between tracks as I see fit. I have passed on the last couple RHHs. Last one I stayed in that lane for was Blackalicious (I have an OG but can’t resist - I think that is an album that would fit if you were curating essential RHH; it is a seminal underground album).
But my argument isn’t whether albums are good or bad each month - THAT is subjective. My argument is that if anyone believes there is some kind of “curation” going on they a) don’t care to know what “curation” is (as a stickler for precise, actionable language you should); b) give the staff too much credit re: expert knowledge; c) a combination of those; d) anything else I may have forgotten that makes my argument the Michael Jordan of arguments
But there is no cognitive dissonance in my position and being subscribed, as I’m not under the illusion that I am subscribed to a curated playlist.
