Do or Die
Arriving fully formed in 1998 as some midpoint between a street gang, a dockworkers union, the Clash and the Pogues, Dropkick Murphys' 'Do or Die' is punk music for the barroom, music that rises to meet you at the end of a long shift over a couple cold ones with the fellas. It's here on...www.vinylmeplease.com
BUT THERE'S ONLY 500 IN THAT ONE COLOR PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY AND MY DIGNITY!Imagine paying Mofi prices for a single disc pressed at the incomparable Independent Record Pressing. Gross.

Does it look "Fool and his money" nice though?
EDIT: Like, at the end of a long day, can you sit back, open a cold one with the fellas and say "Well boys, I paid almost double it's worth, but damn look at that swirl".
More like PopTick Murphys ammirite??Imagine paying Mofi prices for a single disc pressed at the incomparable Independent Record Pressing. Gross.
Sigh....More like PopTick Murphys ammirite??
I would love to know how their pressings are selling at stores. If they're doing a reasonable amount of sales I'd extend that timeline a bit. Knowing VMP, I'm avoiding picking anything up from the stores, but I can see some titles appealing to people who know nothing about the company.I was reasonably optimistic for them in the past when dark clouds descended, even during the pressing plant fiasco. But I don’t give them till Easter now. They dont have much of a product left and simply had to keep sending a monthly fixed album to subscribers. Not having enough to do that and leaving long time members with product they dont want is a killer. People are gonna drop them like the proverbial hot potato. I would jump if you had multiple months left. My international damnation came at the perfect time, that’s an accidental win.

I think they will downsize a bunch. Pressing 2k copies of 1-2 albums a month instead of 5-10k of 3-5 albums they did in the past is going to give them a longer runway IMO. It's going to be interesting to see how many people bail right now. They have already said that less people than anticipated have bailed so far, but I bet that number has ticked up after swaps opened up.I was reasonably optimistic for them in the past when dark clouds descended, even during the pressing plant fiasco. I think just some smaller shops bailed that were only buying a handful of certain titles. HHV and some bigger shops still have tons of VMP releases. HHV has 240 VMP albums in stock and I believe they added newer stuff since they first started buying from VMP wholesale. It sounded like a couple of international shops bailed on them.
They have 17 records/sets delayed on their production chart that will take until Q3 (maybe Q4) to wrap up. They could release only 12 new albums this year and no exclusives and still be running behind. They have already said that less people than anticipated have bailed so far...
They got a bunch and sold out of quite a few of them ( not knowing how many copies they had of them) . I bought barracuda from them in a sale and that is one of he ones gone nowI think just some smaller shops bailed that were only buying a handful of certain titles. Yea--housing and some delayed records are very similar situations! They have 17 records/sets delayed on their production chart that will take until Q3 (maybe Q4) to wrap up. They could release only 12 new albums this year and no exclusives and still be running behind.
Reminds me of the housing industry selling new unbuilt homes/lots while simultanously trying to deal with delayed or partially completed homes they sold previously.
Haven’t they already done this?Yea--housing and some delayed records are very similar situations!
Blue Note has started shipping. GD supposedly next month. I think they will change most of their model to be preorder/press to order moving forward.
