I highly doubt they ever do the OG cover if Fiona requested the change.

You might not need to sign up again just for this. I let my membership lapse last month and was still able to snag it for $34 with free international shipping today. A few others have posted the same.

Try the magazine link trick that has worked for some people to give them member pricing + free shipping without having to be a member...I personally don't think this will be widely available but there's no way to know. My hunch, and others it seems, is that since Idler Wheel and Tidal have been VMP only, and this one is also a black pressing, it's only going to be VMP. Fiona herself said she would repress but only if she could change the cover so I don't see some other company pressing it with the OG cover.

I will say though, I think this one will also be pressed and repressed like Idler Wheel and Tidal were. I'm guessing it will hit swaps when it comes out around September or at the very least they will release more copies.

Nope, not this time and your trick didn't work, I don't have any account anymore. I may purchase the record when it's out next February (won't pre-order anything from them, never) if I have a discount code and free shipping. If not, well, there are some great Japanese jazz reissues coming in the next months :p

Wouldn't that be a crazy twist if you were actually still subscribed, but they've been charging someone else and shipping your packages to yet someone completely different, month after month, for all this time?
 
Not buying a record you really want to own the libs...err VMP. All joking aside, If this is something that ya REALLY wanted on wax you should purchase it while it’s available, yes it is over priced and the cover art is less than ideal but hoping it will be made available elsewhere or via swaps or on sale is how ya miss out. I get it if you are not a big fan but if this is something really wanted and have the means to do so. Now is the time to make it happen.

According to P4K NO! The LP is available exclusively through VMP. Apparently 🍎 signed some sort of exclusivity agreement.

It says this first pressing is exclusive to VMP. I don't see mention in the article that she signed any exclusivity agreement. Nor mention that it would or wouldn't be available elsewhere. And VMP's wording is also careful (yeah, I'll be nice and say careful instead of what I really think of it) enough that it also does not mention availability elsewhere in the future.

Agreed, that was my reasoning. You're paying premium pricing for the ability to secure an item you really want. Yes, it may pop up for cheaper down the road, but that's a gamble I'd rather not take on an album I really want.

I decided to bite the bullet, especially because it means that I can now be done with VMP for the foreseeable future (basically, unless and until they are the sole exclusive source of one of my 10 or so white whales, which is somewhat unlikely). Glad it didn't require signing back up for a membership.

I can wait for a cheaper copy to come down the pipeline, especially if this isn't even shipping until September.

It'll be in swaps or there'll be a 20% off code or something at some point. I have no FOMO for Fiona. :)
