Vinyl Storage Recommendation

Okay real question for @Ghost, did you get the Symbol one with side panels or the standard Haller without? What's keeping your records from falling out the sides? Do you find that the records ever feel squished? Asking for a friend.
I have a standard Haller 2x2 that has side panels, back panels, and two doors.

Currently I've filled up about 3 and a half of the shelves, and need to redistribute a bit to unsquish my records but I've been a bit lazy, but yes, they get squishy squishy cause I over stuff them for no good reason. Don't mind my little collection of inner sleeves there on the door, I put my inner/outer sleeves inside the door when I'm spinning a record and always forget to put back the originals after resleeving new records.

Y'all are hilarious. Everyone is invited to stand inside my little Greenpoint closet with me. The good news about my listening space is the whole room is the listening sweet spot, because errrr, no where else to go
I always thought the view we see from your apartment was more Dumbo than Greenpoint, but now I know roughly where that view is from. A few weeks ago, the wife and I spent an evening in Greenpoint — had slices at Paulie Gee’s and drinks at Eavesdrop and The Hidden Pearl (bar in back of Wanpaku). I was bummed that Sama Street is closed on Mondays.

And we caught the amazing view . . .

Do the hinges cause any damage to the records? I like the open-concept ones but also hiding all my bullshit could be nice

What did you think about Eavesdrop?

they haven’t, but I also strategically have put records I don’t give a shit about or box sets up against the hinges to make sure they don’t!

We liked Eavesdrop. Good cocktails and music and dug the overall vibe/design. Unfortunately, we had to sit at the bar, not in the main room in back but still a good time.

If you’re into that sort of thing, I cannot recommend All Blues highly enough. It’s gorgeous, and the sound in the main room comes from a stunning set of huge 1950s JBL speakers, and the guy who runs it (Cornelius) is a cool dude, and the DJ played killer music while we were there. You have to email for a reservation, and I strongly recommend getting one for the main room. It’s different than Eavesdrop and other listening bars in that the music is the primary focus, so they ask that people talk quietly. You’ll see their guidelines
