Your week in music (last.fm collages...)

Week 28 recap

collage - 2022-07-15T092353.291.jpeg

I've kept on listening to Q2 releases. Really enjoying the "Everything Everything" album, Selah Sue, Sunflower Bean and Ella Mai were enjoyable too. Halestorm, flor and Praises had been solid. Will post my Q2 soon.
In anticipation of the new Lizzo album I've relistened to "Lizzobangers" and really enjoyed that record. Apart from that some pop by Ariana Grande and Ava Max.

Lots of spinning and streaming caused my tapmusic to be a mess so I had to make the chart myself lol. The no buy challenge thread has been where most of my listening has been this week, and then preparing to see Elton was another time sink. But Lizzo owned my ass this week. And even if i dont think she totally stuck the landing on Special, I still see myself coming back to it alot going forward

Week 29 recap

Music I've listened to during the first week of our trip to Portugal, mostly at the pool, in busses and on the beach. I'm enjoying the new Lizzo album and see myself coming back to it often as @Fleetwood-Matt said before. Also listened to quite a bit MARINA and some favorite records.

This is the beach I'm lying at now. I'll post my New Releases for this Friday later today :)

Week 29 recap:

Breakdown
This has been a mostly good week. I really enjoyed both albums from Caterina Barbieri and Kali Malone (not pictured) this year; progressive electronic and drone releases that both have a good shot at making my top50. New one from black midi is much better than last year's Cavalcade. A handful of good metal releases in the past month that were enjoyable as well. Katy J Pearson with a very enjoyable singer/songwriter LP. Otherwise, playing through the collection and getting close to finishing the "M" titles.
New album from Lizzo was a tough pill to swallow. Among my least favorite albums of the year.

I am absolutely obsessed with the Fernandes record. It is probably the first real competition to Punch Brothers for my top spot this year. Got the Neil Bootlegs this week and listened to a lot of live Neil - CSNY is a long one, so of course it placed. Still a lot of classical. Doesn't help that in addition to some time at work and when I lay down for my afternoon nap, I have now decided on classical Mondays. Thinking about Blues Tuesdays as well. Jazz Sunday hardly ever places unless I play a Kamasi album because all those 4 and 6 track albums don't have a shot. Samuelson is still hanging in my top ten currently. Doctor Bionic came through the curation of @Plaid Room / Colemine 's Friends of Colemine section in their store, which I pretty much just grab everything from now. It's like a jazzy version of DJ Shadow.

Week 30 recap:

Breakdown
Did not listen to any new music last week. Hoping to cram last week's and this week's listens by next Thursday but with my younger brother visiting for the weekend, this might prove difficult.
Spinning through the collection and just finished the "M" titles. Should finish all of the "N" titles by next week; not many of those in the library, to my surprise.
