Breakdown
Found a few good ones. Highly recommend the Chat Pile and (obviously) Beyonce records, both are slammers at opposite genre ends. Also recommend the DOMi & JD BECK, Zenizen, The Koreatown Oddity, and Naked Flames (not pictured) records. Finished playing through the "N" titles and now onto the "O" titles in the collection playthrough.
My week:
I had a moment with Beyonce this week. It actually took me a couple of listens to click. Blues is becoming a thing on Mondays, so that's Smith. I am SOOOOO obsessed with this Fernandes album! Neil boots cheap on Amazon. I imagine they will pop up over the next two weeks as well. I did a Beatles discography listen at work last night, then hey look, LOTS OF CLASSICAL, Ma!
Really enjoying the new Beyoncé record, I think it'll rank high in my 2022 year's chart. I'm also liking the new King Princess album. Great songs on that one. Florist is impressive too.
Apart from that I've kept on listening to DCFC, Ariana Grande and some classics. Hope I find more time next week to head into more recent releases.
Breakdown
Not too much new music listened to in the past week, nothing that immediately impressed me on first listen that I've gotten around to. Continuing the collection playthrough, now having finished the "O" titles and roughly midway through the "P" titles at the moment.
I had forgotten to post yesterday. I've got some waterproof bone conducting headphones and finally had been able to test them while swimming in an open air pool. I've listened to the "Inner Song" album on them while swimming and it was a very joyful experience.
Of new music I've checked out Viagra Boys which was good/okay, and Metric, which was pretty enjoyable. Still way behind in checking out new music, but we had a pretty hot week over here, so I got lazy. Apart from that some DCFC, Blur, Kate Bush, REM and other classics.
Breakdown
Been a pretty solid week. All hip hop fans must listen to the Danger Mouse x Black Thought collab, it is next level all while being a project that excels at the fundamentals. Also would recommend the Tomu DJ album, an enjoyable piece of ambient techno/electronic. Newest from GIRLS' GENERATION is just OK, didn't expect too much after a five year hiatus. Finished both the "P" and "Q" titles in the collection playthrough, now about 1/3rd of the way through the "R" titles.
I listened to Cheat Codes and like it, but I can't get with all the love. It is so poorly produced that I actually have a hard time listening to it. Someone needs to do a remix and let me know when it bangs as hard as it should.
Listened to a few newer albums. Katy J Pearson is very enjoyable. I also liked Phoebe Green, her singing sometimes reminds me a bit of Billie Eilish. The new Hot Chip album is pretty good. Also Caterina Barbieri has put out a great, mostly instrumental album. Florist and King Princess are two favorites of the recent weeks. Metric is great too. Wu Lu is interesting, but I need to listen to that more.
Apart from that some Mylene Farmer, I bought a ticket for a concert of hers in Brussels next year, I've seen her a few times in France before.
