Beyoncé back on top after a week off, I thought it’d be close between her and Carole King but Beyoncé but it wasn’t at all lol. Weirdly I’ve had this Tennis album since it’s release and this is the first time it’s actually clicked with me

SRSQ's newest album blew me away. Seriously...it might be in my top10 for the year right now. Wake's Thought Form Descent is also a quality black metal release that I am glad to have gotten around to. A few other enjoyable records as well; Terrence Etc., Elaine Howley, and Ghais Guevere are among them. Otherwise, still working through the collection playthrough, but have slowed down somewhat. Nearing the end of the "R" titles.
A week with pretty hot weather, and I didn't listen to any new releases. Created a Patrick Wolf Playlist for a friend of mine and ended up listening to it a few times myself, so his albums are up high. Apart from that some Sia, Mylene Farmer and MIA., a German Synthpop band. Will try to listen to more new releases again for next week.
My week:
Watkins Family Hour is the only new release to creep in this week, but I didn’t do a whole lot of new music listening.
The constant listening of Shotgun Willie and Honky Tonk Heroes lead to listening to career spanning box sets by both artist. Glen Campbell too (I had done some Countrypolitan listening) and well Johnny belongs with Nelson and Jennings.
Hey look classical and Westworld (newish) getting listens!
All the Beastie talk in the VMP threads got Check a listen or three.
Miles had to have got a bunch of listens to show up.
Forgot to post my week
The new JID and Jacob Banks albums are fantastic. JID made me revisit some favs from this year and some older go tos. Phil Cook and Purple Cat(lo-fi) helped me get through some frustrating work.
A lot of vinyl spins this week! Also I used Discogs to pick random albums to listen to while working so this was the most diverse list I’ve had in a while. First listen to The Dismemberment Plan after always being intrigued by the cover and I definitely want to spend more time with it because the first listen was super positive. I also thought Into The Woods would have an easy #1 spot when it really clicked with me again out of nowhere but looks like Beyoncé has a stronger hold over me then I thought lol

This was a bit of a rough week. The good news is that there were still some releases I found enjoyment with, particularly in the ambient/nu-jazz beauty of Szun Waves' Earth Patterns. A few hip hop drops came through with the goods like Mach-Hommy and the newest Alchemist pairing. I'd avoid the newest DJ Khaled (obviously), Muse, and Panic! At The Disco releases if you can help it.
Slowing down on the vinyl playthrough in the past week; still in the final leg of the "R" titles, should have those finished up this weekend.
I had been enjoying Stella Donnelly's debut album again this week, which is a great album, however I'm agreeing with @Rip_City that her new album is rather only good/ mediocre. While I enjoy some songs on it, it seems many songs are rather redundant. The Megan Thee Stallion album is fun and I will revisit for sure. Szun Waves was enjoyable, thanks to @Rip_City for recommending.
I've also liked to listen to English Indie Rock band Lovejoy, whose music I discovered this week. Revisited Soda Blonde, great album. Provinz is a German Indie Rock band.
