Started getting some preorder cancellations from Dusty Grove on the TBM titles. They cancelled my order for Blow Up and Blue City. Hoping the others don't get cancelled from them...
HMV Japan seems to still have them but no clue what shipping costs are since they don't bill you the proper shipping until they get sent out.I left it late, forgot you have to preorder these days. Can’t seem to find Blow out & Midnight Sugar

Somerville Grooves is a really cool shop. Kinda small, but in a wholly independent and unique way. You never know what you might find, but he definitely curates jazz and in my experience his prices are fair.I’m in Boston looking at a couple colleges w/ my daughter. I’m gonna have some time tomorrow to check out some record stores. I’m mostly interested in used jazz.
Nuggets is about a minute from our hotel, and Orpheus a few minutes’ walk past that. I was also thinking about In Your Ear and Village Vinyl. I can get anywhere on the T and don’t mind walking. But there are too many options, and I don’t know which shops specialize or focus on jazz.
Thanks for any input. I looked at the New England and Boston threads but neither has been active for a couple years, and I don’t recognize any of the people that posted there.

Just saw one of my locals post about this. Apparently the guy who runs the shop is the guy who put this book together!I will end up dotting this around a few threads because I imagine quite a few people will be interested.

you'd love that shop. the guy is obviously a HUGE Sun Ra fan so you would have a lot to talk about! I wish it was a little closer to me (it's about an hour away) but they always have a great used jazz section and prices are fair. They have had some OG Sun Ra albums on the wall a few times when I've been there.Way cool!
I love that Fantagraphics is publishing it - they do very quality work. And it means I should be able to order it through a local bookseller or comic shop and not have to pay the $40 shipping the website is wanting on the preorder! And also that I can wait a few months before dropping the dough, as I've just ordered a handful of Ra albums over the past week.
Oh yeah, I saw it on Hudson Valley Vinyl which I'm assuming you are referring to? He said he's been working on it for 3 years, so it must be incredible to see it come to fruition.Just saw one of my locals post about this. Apparently the guy who runs the shop is the guy who put this book together!
Yep! It's up in Beacon which is about an hours drive away. They are one of the best stores in my area especially for jazz. Really nice people too. Wish it was closer but my wife is glad that it's far enough away that I don't go every weekend hahaOh yeah, I saw it on Hudson Valley Vinyl which I'm assuming you are referring to?
