Jazz

I’m talking about the music. I don’t have the AP , but it’s a great album.Plus another vote for Immanuel Wilkins if you want to support new guys and Harish Raghaven-Calls For Action is mighty as well.
I have Crescent and it's nice. Top notch quality.
Sax gets a little hot on the left upon opening but it settles in nicely as it spins.

I’ll just try to cite one from each group that should still be available:

Tone Poet: Joe Pass, For Django. I simply cannot get enough of this album.

Verve/Impulse: John Coltrane, A Love Supreme: Live in Seattle. I’ve moved more toward live albums in the past few months and this is a great one if you like this period of Coltrane’s work.

Acoustic Sounds: Bill Evans, Trio 65. My latest acquisition and another live album. I’m an Evans fan and this is proving to be a favorite - I do like it a lot more than Trio 64.

Couple Tone Poets to grab while you can.

Curtis Amy - Katanga It is getting scarce now (my local has it if you need one)
Duke Pearson - The Phantom Getting VERY hard to find, but I found a copy for @stpaulbrowns recently
Chick Corea - Now He Sings Now He Sobs Recently reprinted, Plaid room still has it (inc. a $29 dent copy)

My favorites of what I've picked up to date...

Blue Note Tone Poets
Curtis Amy & Dupree Bolton - Katanga!
Bobby Hutcherson - The Kicker
Donald Byrd - Chant

Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series
Donald Byrd - Places and Spaces
Lee Morgan - ¡Caramba!
Herbie Nichols - The Prophetic Herbie Nichols, Vol. 1 & 2

Acoustic Sounds Verve / Impulse!
Oliver Nelson - The Blues and the Abstract Truth
Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
Stan Getz / Joao Gilberto featuring Antonio Carlos Jobim - Getz / Gilberto
Looks like a solid list! Thanks

I have the Getz/Gilberto and it's just beautiful.

Grabbed this one from the jazz bin at a local last week.

It is really clean and quiet vinyl.
I don't have much info on these Capitol Jazz Classics, but I wouldn't mind adding a few more for cheap, especially if cut from the original tapes.

A fantastic reissue just arrived from Trunk records. Magician's S/T release.

It's a British jazz fusion record that features Barbara Thompson and initially only sold a handful of copies. Johnny Trunk bought a copy during the lockdown and was able to reissue it (presumably a needle drop).

It's sold out on Trunk records website but a few different outlets have copies. Its limited to 800 copies.

Don't recall how this one snuck into my queue, but now I'm wishing it hadn't taken a couple/few weeks to get to it... great stuff!

Please cross post that one over in the Hammond thread as well my friend.
Good to see Delvon has given you (or at least your feed) the organ bug 😊

I had to amend my prior list with a pressing that is both Verve and Acoustic Sounds - the Gil Evans Orchestra, Out of the Cool. I typically avoid large group jazz albums, but this one is extraordinary. The recording, mastering and pressing put you right in the action. I found myself mesmerized by the performance. Wow!
I waited a long time before buying it, but now I regret not getting it sooner. Better late…

I am not but that is why I ask the experts.
Will look into this.
DLOT is a bit more in the Booker T and the MG's soul mold than say Jimmy Smith, but very recommended. Also on one of the coolest small labels to support, @Plaid Room / Colemine As @avecigrec mentioned try and also catch a live show, although they are in Europe for July now.

FWIW: I ditched my OG after hearing the Tone Poet. If you love that album, I feel pretty confident you'll to want to do the same.
