That's pretty much where I'm at now - I was worried about the election and wanting her to win, but also apprehensive on what would come after election day (i.e. a worse Jan 6th) - and now that's one less thing to worry about. I cancelled my subscription to Youtube TV, so no more MSNBC - and unsubscribed to many political youtube channels....at least for now.
Time to tune out of politics for a while.

Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but how are they going to do a mass deportation on undocumented people? Are they just going to go around and check every Hispanic/Non White person?

Possibly on the lighter side, if things don’t pan out for the people that did vote for Trump, who are they going to blame because it can’t be the democrats, especially in the red states.
Trump said he’s gonna deploy the national guard to do it how they’re gonna do. It is not clear but yes, it has been mentioned that they may in fact go door-to-door and check everybody.

So I read this Bernie post and my immediate thought was maybe he’ll finally launch a real progressive party away from the DNC. The worry in the past was “oh no itll siphon away dem voters!!” But there’s no time like the present. Something fresh and new needs to happen to get people excited and hopeful again. They can caucus with the Dems if they really want but a new 3rd party is needed. People want real change and I bet a lot of Trump voters would actually be into it.

I thought about this on the way home from work. The “traditional” Republican Party is dead, at least for now and after another failed campaign from the DNC, maybe a third party could rise from the ashes instead of trotting out the same ol same ol in 2028.
It will, and it will cost taxpayers billions, if not trillions. When faced with this question Trump advance, it says they’re gonna have to start with the dangerous criminals the rapist, and what not then worked their way through the rest of the illegals

It's not a practical goal. I'm hoping it's just a scare bluff to rouse up xenophobia and racism, and will not actually get anywhere, but we should take it seriously nonetheless.

If you have HBO I would recommend watching the episode of Last Week Tonight from 2 or three weeks ago about immigration it has two main stories the first one is the one you want where he does a deep dive into what mass deportation would look like. Splitting up families, deporting the wrong people, keeping people in camps while waiting for adjudication. Making local police potential violate citizens civil rights to help with arrests. It would also cost a ton of money and severely hurt the economy. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a clip of that segment, only the second segment that shits on Lee Greenwood which is much funnier but less informative.

Oh yeah for sure not him as the next guy, but he understands that. He can lead the way and get more people involved. It would be a great legacy for him to leave behind as founder of a new political party.
I’m talking out my ass and I haven’t seen anything about this happening but I feel like it would be great idea.

I said it this morning, but I'll go to my grave believing he would have won in 2016. That said, the pamdemic would have led to inflation and then progressives would be blamed for EVERYTHING right now.
But we'd also have progressives on the Supreme Court so...
And on top of that, the way he was treated sent a bunch of people into Trumps arms and caused them to flee the party.
