Political Discussion

At least Target is not closing locations like Walmart. But still, if things are that bad there are much larger issues to address with society than shoplifting.
I mean, I ran out of baby wash one day and when I stopped at a local CVS to pick some up while running some other errands, they had it behind glass like that. It's baby wash! For christ's sake. There were like four shelves in the BABY SECTION!!!!

They reversed their previous ruling and now state that the courts have no role to play in policing partisan gerrymandering.

North Carolina is fucked. We've already had Tricia Cathom flip to the GOP, disenfranchising thousands who voted for her, because her feelings were hurt. The legislature now has veto proof supermajorities.

They're going to gerrymander the hell out of next years election maps.

But when only about half the state bothered to vote last midterm this is the kind of thing that happens. To quote Trent: pigs we get what pigs deserve.

It’s time to take all the guns away:

I think it's time to start showing bodies on television. When you listen to ER docs describing how flesh and bone disintegrate when struck with high velocity rounds, how those kids in Uvalde were unrecognizable and had to be identified by DNA, maybe.. just maybe that would prompt some action.

I'm sure we'll stick with thoughts and prayers though.

I think I will email my coo and ask if the organization can start an education campaign. They did do a remarkable job with Black Lives Matter education, resources and demonstrations of solidarity so they aren’t afraid of
“Politics” regarding these types of matters.

Our local grocery stores still have the baby formula behind locked cabinets. Boggles the mind that our society is more worried about profits than nourished children 🤦🏾‍♂️

Our laws protect creditors and property instead of protecting people from predatory lending and unlivable wages/predatory work places (e.g. the entire gig economy). We, as a society, need to address this first.
