Well, I’m not regretting selling my Bobby Hutcherson Montara for $150 yesterday 😬

I posted this at the other forum TP subscription...only took 3.5 years to do it...and prices have gone WAAY up...

I also mentioned this a bit ago...I know the TP's are killing it with wide distribution but BN wouldn't piss off their channels to do an in-house subscription thing at $25/per/shipped or $50 a month, billed in audience friendly ways - the infrastructure build out would be relatively simple based on their existing online storefront, the only downside is customer service, which is understandably tough right now, considering a) target audience needstates (i.e. really hard to please jazz nerds) and b) overall QC on vinyl...and COVID stuff..

They could also incentivize with an 1x a year only to club members release - paid for of course, just not available elsewhere.

It’s only a matter of time before just about everything is reissued by BN. The only older BN stuff I’m really looking to get is monos at this point since Harley and KG seem to not be at all interested in doing many monos.
This is what record store day would be good for: do some kind of Mono editions like Craft has done but keep stereo general sale.

If this was billed monthly for a year sub and they said the 4 special titles up front, I’d consider it. But it’s a LOT to pay up front for the whole year without loving all the titles and without knowing the secret titles. Had this happened year 1 I would have been in but I’ve had some jazz overload with all the reissues the past few years

yes, they clearly didn't listen to my advice given nearly 4 years ago....this will fail, no one is locking up $ prepaying for titles that will come out eventually and will be discounted across channels.

So you’re saying a chance to win a 10-minute call with the “Tone Poet” himself isn’t gonna put you over the finish line for the 1-year sub?? Shocking!!

I think if you want all the titles or are a completionist, the discount on the year long sub is close enough to the 30% off that you wouldn’t be upset about it plus can buy the 4 exclusives. I’m just not sure how many completionists are left.
