had no clue either. i'm confused about why they are doing print to order lately. the plus side is that the FOMO isn't there and people will have time to order it. but it just seems like many of them are not selling well. most of the preorder windows have been extended.

my tinfoil hat take is that they're trying to consolidate the amount of warehouse space they pay for in order to cut costs there(because having a ton of funds tied up in warehouse space can be considerable). all the scratch and dent sales, sales, print on demands - these all lower the amount of overhead stock they have and can free up considerable space in a warehouse that could save them some cash at a time when they are probably looking to trim fat.

Especially as it was a front to sell Warner releases direct to customer. It did take a weird turn from Curtis Mayfield to super heavy metal…

I think it was a bit of a sham. I am pretty sure they had picked each months title and just used the voting to gauge interest in other records.
